We're Working on a So Faded Sweater

I have to admit that this is my first top down construction sweater and am very intrigued by the whole process. I also have to admit that I haven't tackled knitting a sweater in a couple of decades. I was once an overly ambitious 12 year old that insisted on knitting her own cabled sweater. I wish I would have taken pictures of it!

Every piece of the sweater (front, back, sleeves) were knit separately and then sewn together. My mom helped me finish the neck. Nevermind that the sweater turned out a bit smaller (I didn't have a clue about gauge back then), I was just so proud that it actually looked like a sweater and that the cables turned out really pretty. This time around I have a fantastic pattern to work from plus a way easier construction method to follow.

I decided to use colors that were not only some of my favorites but ones I would actually wear in real life. I chose Brooklyn, Ghost Mist, Cabernet, Shrieking Violet all on Squish Wish Sock.

This is how far I've gotten, and this morning I started adding in my final colorway.

I can't wait to post pics of the finished sweater! :)
